A look back at the round-table discussion: "Is the city still a place for good living?
On January 13, 2025, at the Maison des Ponts, we enjoyed an exceptional evening with 3 distinguished guests:
- Jean-Christophe Fromantin, Mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine,
- Thierry Déau, Chairman and Founder of Méridiam
- Anthony Briant, Director of the École nationale des ponts et chaussées.
and 60 participants in face-to-face and remote sessions.
Moderated by Charles-Edouard Delpierre, Director of Ponts Alumni and Chairman of the Ponts Construction Group, the title of the round table was "Is the city still the place for good living?
After an introduction, recalling the energy, demographic, climatic, digital, geopolitical and technological transitions, the panel covered the notions of metropolization, de-densification, urbanity, medium-sized cities, well-being and living, designing, building and managing the city with its inhabitants. Both the speakers and the audience discussed the challenges of adapting to climate change. The round table concluded, with humility, with the need to maintain a solid training program for Ponts engineers and graduates, with a 360° and systemic approach.
