Winegrowing in Italy is a thousand-year-old tradition. In recent decades, inspired in particular by Burgundian practices, the best producers have joined the world's elite.

To claim to cover all of Italy's terroirs is a tall order: vines are everywhere!

The world's leading producer by volume, Italy offers every type of wine and every level of quality. Some appellations have inherited a bad reputation linked to past practices and to wines found in bad restaurants. Others are not sufficiently well known in France.

So we'll be sampling a few leading regions, as well as some lesser-known ones. If you're unfamiliar with Italian wines, this will be an opportunity to appreciate the richness of this production, and for others to taste new wines.
