Madame Marie-Pierre Rixain has been the Member of Parliament for the 4th constituency of Essonne since the 2017 legislative elections, and was re-elected last June. She is also a professor of public and institutional communications at ISCOM, a communications school.
A graduate of theInstitut d'études politiques de Toulouse and CELSA, she also holds a DESS in Parliamentary Life and a DESS in Local Authority Communication. She first worked with Jacques Barrot, Member of Parliament, then in public communications, notably on development projects.
Chairwoman of the Délégation aux droits des femmes et à l'égalité des chances entre les hommes et les femmes (Women's rights and equal opportunities for men and women delegation) at theAssemblée nationale until last June, and a member of the Commission affaires économiques (economic affairs committee).last June, and a member of the Economic Affairs Committee, she is the author of the law of December 26, 2021 aimed at accelerating economic and professional equality between women and men.
In March 2021, she tabled a bill that included measures as diverse as the obligation to pay wages and social benefits into the bank account held by the employee, as well as the flagship measure of introducing quotas to feminize the management bodies of large companies, which many thought impossible to introduce into our law and which has since inspired other countries.
As a result, companies with over 1,000 employees will have 30% women executives in management bodies by 2026, and 40% by 2028.
We look forward to a fascinating debate with this elected official, who is committed to women's issues on a number of fronts!
