Conference: "Environmental challenges of current and future nuclear power projects".

Conference organized by X-Environnement and Centrale Énergies,
in partnership with Ponts Transition Écologique

The environmental challenges of current and future nuclear projects

Wednesday, April 3 from 7pm to 9pm
at the Maison des Ponts

We all know, or think we know, the advantages and disadvantages of current nuclear power generation technologies.

But what about the next technological avenues, in particular that of fast neutron reactors (RNR), also known as 4th generation, which has long been studied but not yet deployed, even though it is supposed to be more economical with ore and radioactive waste? And what about safety?

We invite you to take a closer look at this complex subject with our two speakers:

  • Daniel Heuer, research director at the IN2P3 laboratory (Institut National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules), specialist in molten-salt reactors
  • Jacky Rousselle, former EDF atomic engineer
