Conference: Real estate and climate change: what is the right relationship to technology?

Group "Real Estate Group (French)"

As part of the :

"Cities and real estate in the face of the climate emergency".

X-Ponts Pierre is pleased to invite you to the 3rd real estate conference in its series on the climate emergency, on the theme:

Real estate and climate change: what's the right relationship with technology?

Technology and innovation (BMS, BIM, digital twins, off-site construction, etc.) offer solutions for massively reducing our CO2 emissions. Faced with the extremely ambitious targets set by the SNBC for the building industry (as a reminder, our objective is to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 49% by 2030, in 7 years, compared with 2015, and by 95% by 2050), we can assume that all levers must be mobilized.

But are all technologies relevant to all projects? What is the "return on climate investment" of different technologies? How many greenhouse gases have they prevented vs. how much more energy does a connected building consume than a more frugal one?Does technology enable buildings to be more resilient (e.g., by making it possible to calculate as precisely as possible the materials needed to withstand the vagaries of the weather) or, on the contrary, is it a source of vulnerability, as buildings become too complex to maintain? At a time when we need to train craftsmen on a massive scale to renovate our building stock, aren't the widespread use of technologies like BIM likely to increase the shortage of people capable of mastering them?

At a time when schools of thought are taking shape in the building industry, opposing "technophiles" and "frugalists", X-Ponts Pierre wants to bring together pragmatic players to try and discern the best approaches and certainly, their possible hybridizations.
