Not since the automobile industry entered the mass-production era over 100 years ago has it undergone such radical transformations. Since the introduction of digital technology, the automotive industry has undergone profound change, and even disruption.

New players, some from outside the industrial sector, such as Google, Apple, Uber and BlaBlaCar, are emerging to propose new uses and concepts. From being a consumer good and an emotional and social marker, the car is becoming a service. Individually and collectively, our relationship with the car is changing.

Theaim of this conference is to share the impact of this digital revolution on a traditional sector such as the automotive industry, from three angles: economic (new business models), societal (uses, jobs, training, professions, urban planning) and energy.

And, ultimately, to determine which uses and which players should be involved over the next ten years? Carmakers? Equipment manufacturers? Internet giants? Transport operators? Infrastructure operators? Insurance companies?

Conference organized by Institut G9+, Idate, Union Routière de France and X Automobile.
