Some sixty international engineering students representing 20 different nationalities, including 7 Brazilians, 6 Japanese, 5 Argentinians and 5 Lebanese, have been admitted to the École to become graduate engineers.

The start of the school year is scheduled for the last week of August 2023, and we have already scheduled a meeting to present the international sponsorship program to the students on Thursday August 24, 2023.

We have therefore decided to launch a call for applications for sponsors to accompany international students admitted to the School in their second year. Our aim is to be able to set up pairs in September, so that sponsorship can begin by early October at the latest.

Once the sponsors are known, we plan to organize a meeting between the sponsor candidates in September to enable them to get to know each other better and to exchange views with each other, with the sponsorship team and with the School on issues and experiences that are important for the smooth running of the sponsorship program.

Over the past 10 years, international sponsorship has become one of Ponts Alumni's flagship initiatives, acclaimed and in demand by the School, international students and alumni alike.

Sponsorship is a wonderful human experience, which enriches both the sponsored student and the sponsor, through a mutual openness to another culture. Godparents play an essential role in helping these students discover our country, our society and our culture, helping them to find their bearings in their course of study (particularly when it comes to choosing internships) and providing them with any advice they may need to facilitate their integration into the School and into our country. Tomorrow, the students we welcome will become ambassadors for our school and our country, and will in turn contribute to strengthening the international community of Les Ponts!
