Presentation

The Dévelop'Ponts association was set up in 2001, within the École des Ponts ParisTech. It brings together 12 engineering students from the school, motivated by a desire to make themselves useful through local, national and international solidarity actions.

Our aim is to enable engineering students to carry out projects that promote development in general. We believe that this kind of experience can change the way future Ponts engineers look at these issues.

Réunions

The range of actions is quite vast, as you will see by browsing the site, but they are chosen with the aim of responding to a real need and with a concern for sustainable development.

Local actions are an opportunity to get away from the daily routine of a student-engineer, to open up to the environment close to the École. These actions (short courses and tutoring) enable us not only to pass on what we've been taught, but also to learn through contact with local pupils, enabling exchanges between secondary school pupils and students from different cultures and generations.

In addition, we are committed to national causes, which we promote on campus. For example, students help to collect food for the food bank, spend a week at the pace of the Telethon, and take part in Handivalides day, which raises awareness of the difficulties associated with disability.

Last but not least, we are also keen to continue our international humanitarian actions, in order to contribute to the growth of sustainable development beyond our borders. In 2008, for example, the association, in partnership with "L'eau du désert", set up a water purification project to help combat desertification and protect the local ecosystem.

Dévelop'Ponts also strives to raise awareness of sustainable development and carry out actions in its favor, both within the school and as part of the tutoring program.
