Welcome to the Research professions group page
Training through research is a long-standing component of teaching at Ecole des Ponts, and has been reaffirmed in recent discussions on teaching reform. However, Ecole des Ponts students are still poorly informed about doctoral and Master's research programs, at the Ecole or elsewhere. There are also few links between the School's PhDs, alumni working in research or R&D, current students and researchers in laboratories attached to the School. It is to try to make a contribution at these different levels that this group was created.
Our objectives:
- For students : to promote training through Research and to inform the curious about Research professions, which are still relatively unknown.
- For researchers attached to the School : to be able to meet students motivated by research topics outside the classroom.
- For the School, students and alumni : create a network of alumni working in research (or having started their careers there), which would benefit both alumni and students (e.g. when looking for internships).
- Give speakers the opportunity to present their work and its potential impact:
- Opening lectures,
- Conferences on themes specific to the world: open innovation, intellectual property, etc.
- Highlight social issues addressed by Ponts Alliance.
- Create partnerships with other Ponts Alliance groups (Energy, Finance, Entrepreneurship, etc.).
- Attract companies and involve them in presenting R&D issues (possibility of creating partnerships/collaborations).
