Mediterranean Rhône Saône, an axis for the future?

At the invitation of Mrs Christine Cabau (Marseille GPM), with the collaboration of Mr Jean-Christophe Baudouin (CGET) and the help of numerous alumni partners, Dominique de Robillard, IESF, Ponts Maritime, X Mer, is organizing an evening event on October 9 in Marseille. Marseilles, an evening devoted to the Mediterranean Rhône-Saône axis, a key trade and traffic route for thousands of years:

What are the best practices for developing European river routes?

What are the challenges for the development of the Mediterranean Rhône-Saône corridor?

The aim of this evening's event is to provide some answers. Speakers will review the geopolitical stakes, and discuss best development practices (traffic flows, economic flows, information flows), with concrete illustrations:

  • Christine Cabau, President of the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, will talk about the Port's history, its successes and its development projects towards the hinterland.
  • Mr. Jean-Christophe Baudouin, CGET, Délégué Interministériel pour l'axe Méditerranée Rhône Saône (Interministerial Delegate for the Mediterranean Rhône Saône Axis), will talk about the development challenges facing this axis.
  • Jean-Louis Jérome, Director of the Port of Strasbourg, will talk about the Rhine-North Sea axis, the Rhine-Rhone axis, and the region's geo-economic challenges.
  • Nicolas Bour, Director of European Links and Innovation, VNF
  • Mr Thomas San Marco, Managing Director of CNR, who will talk about his Group's experience and various interests in the subject.
  • Mr François Marendet, Member of the Conseil Général de l'Environnement et du Développement Durable, will give his point of view.
  • Mr Jap Van Den Hoogen, Chairman of MGI, will present his Cargo Community System project (to be confirmed).

Please register online at https://www.weezevent.com/mediterranee-rhone-saone-un-axe-d-avenir, as the number of places is limited. The welcome is scheduled for 6.15 pm, followed by discussions with the audience. A cocktail reception is planned for 8 pm, with a 15 Euros contribution to expenses.
