GEF BREAKFAST with Nathalie BALLA - CEO of La Redoute
Organised by "Sciences ParisTech au Féminin"
Nathalie Balla, a specialist in the development and turnaround of clothing brands, has dual experience in fashion and distance selling, where she has spent most of her career.
A former director of the Kering group, she and Eric Courteille bought the La Redoute and Relais Colis groups in 2013 for a symbolic €1.
La Redoute, which was founded in 1837 and invented distance selling in 1922, was on the verge of disappearing.
From employee to manager and shareholder in a mail-order company that is losing ground in a rapidly changing market (Zara and H&M offer collections every 6 weeks, e.commerce is growing at a 2-digit rate, etc.).
Nathalie Balla threw herself wholeheartedly into this "adventure of a lifetime", turning La Redoute around and returning the company to growth this year.
Nathalie BALLA will talk to us about her career as a woman manager and business turnaround specialist, and discuss the issue of women in business.
Nathalie Balla is a graduate of ESCP and holds a doctorate in economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
