Research at École des Ponts: general presentation and lab visits

with the following program:

08:45: General presentation of Research (Jérôme Lesueur, Director of Research)

09:15: Visit to the Build'In platform (Romain Mesnil, PhD from Ecole des Ponts)

10:00: Visit to the Navier laboratory (Jean-Michel Pereira, Deputy Laboratory Director)

10.45am: End of tour

Research at École des Ponts involves 12 research laboratories, including 6 in partnership with the CNRS, 500 researchers and teacher-researchers, nearly 700 doctoral and post-doctoral students and over 900 A-rank publications.

The research strategy aims to make a success of the energy and ecological transition, by serving both the advancement of knowledge and the support of economic development.

It federates and mobilizes interdisciplinary expertise around 4 key socio-economic issues:

• City and mobility systems
• Risk, resource and environmental management
• Industry of the future
• Economy, uses and society

The associated action plan aims to respond to these challenges through academic and partnership research, and transfer of knowledge to enhance the competitiveness of companies and the effectiveness of public policies.

All these subjects will be presented to us, and illustrated by visits to two major entities:

• the Build'In platform dedicated to digital construction, integrating additive manufacturing, augmented vision and robotics
• the Navier laboratory, developing upstream research into the mechanics and physics of materials, structures and geomaterials, and their applications to geotechnics, civil engineering, transport, etc.
