Understanding CSR, a lever for sustainable transformation

Global warming, pollution, failing human rights in many countries, the collapse of biodiversity, the inequitable distribution of wealth, young people questioning the meaning of corporate action... As these major issues dominate the news, how can we steer our businesses in a way that is both lucid and relevant, efficient and responsible? At a time when these major issues dominate the headlines, how can companies be managed in a way that is both lucid and relevant, efficient and responsible? The authors offer a structured, systemic and original approach to the major challenges and responses posed by Corporate Social Responsibility. In so doing, they call for a sustainable transformation, through informed and effective action based on three axes: awareness of ecological and social interdependencies, their integration into corporate strategy and practices, and transparent cooperation with society in the general interest.

This book draws on the experience of companies over several decades, the latest scientific findings, available methods and resources, the strengths of organizational management, financial initiatives and legislative developments. Without ignoring the weaknesses and shortcomings in some of these areas, the authors favour a positive, pragmatic approach to an enlightened "how-to".

The aim of this book is clearly to help you understand the issues and constraints at stake, and to help you relearn how to analyze and reflect in order to find lasting solutions for your company and for as many people as possible.

This presentation, which will take place after the XMP-Consult Annual General Meeting, will provide an opportunity to consider the opportunities opened up by the publication of this book for members and supporters of the association.

Conference to mark the publication of the book co-authored by Henri Fraisse, Antoine Jaulmes and Stéphane Bellanger.
