With less than a month to go before COP 21, the Ponts Maritime and Ponts Energie groups, in partnership with X Renouvelable and X-Mer, are pleased to invite you to a round table discussion on November 5 at 6:15 pm at the Ecole Militaire on the theme of financing renewable energy projects.

What are the prospects for now-competitive renewable energies? How can we support and finance their global expansion? What role should public policy play? What are the decisive criteria for an investor in selecting and supporting a project? What obstacles stand in the way?

A panel of 5 speakers, including business leaders, economists and senior civil servants, will share their vision of these major issues through specific problems or analyses of examples of projects in sectors as varied as offshore wind, solar and biomass.

• Xavier Barbaro: Managing Director of Neoen, a French group specializing in the development, construction and financing of solar, wind and biomass power plants.
• Jérôme Guillet: founding partner of Green Giraffe, a financial advisory firm specializing in renewable energies, and European leader in offshore wind project financing.
• Alain Grandjean: Founding partner of Carbone 4, the leading consulting firm specializing in carbon strategy.
• Emmanuel Legrand: Director of the Energy and Ecological Transition Department, Investment and Local Development Division, Caisse des Dépôts.
• Nicolas Ott: former technical advisor to the French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, now an entrepreneur.

After the speeches, the round table will be followed by a question-and-answer session and exchanges with participants. Discussions can continue over a convivial cocktail after the conference.

The event will start at 6:15 pm. Please arrive a little early, and allow for the time needed to pass through the Ecole Militaire entrance controls and the journey to the amphitheatre (5 to 10 minutes).
